Selecting The Right Lighting Fixtures For Your Home Woodworking Shop - Selecting the lighting fixtures and layout of the lights in the woodworking shop is a task that requires a significant amount of time and planning. It is necessary to determine where all of the stationary tools, work bench(s), mobile tools will be positioned to determine how much and where the lights need to be placed. It is never desirable to place a light such that you are casting a shadow when using a power tool.
The Hitachi company began in 1910 as a simple Japanese business specializing in the correction of electrical problems. Within a few years, the small repair shop had expanded into three factories producing electrical implements and tools for industry. It grew into a global corporation concentrating in high technology power tools and various other consumer electrical devices.
The picture above shows the bandsaw I built using the things mentioned. It took me a couple months, since I only worked on it in the evenings and on weekends, but I figure I spent around $100 to make me a functioning bandsaw that cuts up to 12 inch logs. A bandsaw like this would have cost me probably $1200 or more to buy commercially. I later invested in a new motor so I could run it on straight 110 single phase instead of 220 volts single phase. That cost me about $200. I also wrote and kept the plans to the saw so that I could either build another one or share the plans with others.
